Holistic Lifestyle Centre – HLC
Kampung Senang’s Holistic Lifestyle Centre was opened in June 2006 featuring an Eco-Friendly Kitchen and Café, a multipurpose hall and rooms for promoting natural and healthy activities such as sea-salt and mud-bath hydrotherapies, yoga, qigong, meditation, calligraphy, arts and crafts.
“The Mission of this holistic lifestyle centre is to be a Learning and ‘Releasing Space’ for all people who wish to experience a more holistic lifestyle and improve their physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.”
What we mean by ‘release’ is that here, in this space we are creating, people can come and learn techniques to release fears, anger and other negative emotions that cause ‘Dis-ease’. In return, these people will learn to experience peace, joy and good health for themselves and their families.
Preventing sickness is another mission of HLC. We want to educate the young and healthy on how they can be properly nourished and how to manage stress so they will not succumb to lifestyle diseases – obesity, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, arthritis, premature aging – that are putting middle-aged people into wheelchairs.
Eco-Friendly Kitchen
Those who are sick (eg. with cancer), together with their families and care givers, can learn how to prepare wholesome nutritious organic food, herbal drinks and juice therapy to restore health in HLC. This is the main purpose of our Eco-Friendly Kitchen, whose team is led by our head chef Mdm Yong Mui Fah. The Kitchen can accommodate up to 30 people at any training session.
Our Eco-Friendly Kitchen serves members and guests, staff and volunteers, with healthy organic vegetarian lunches and snacks at an affordable $6-8 per set meal. Visitors to HLC may also enjoy food from our Kitchen. Donations to the Foundation are welcome.
Library@HLC – A shared facility with the Vegetarian Society of Singapore (VSS)
We extend a very warm welcome to the Vegetarian Society Singapore for jointly sharing a library and working with us to promote healthy and natural vegetarian diets in schools. Donation of books, journals and multimedia on natural health, holistic living and organic gardening is warmly appreciated.
Retail – by Eco-Harmony Global Network Limited
Many basic items that a beginner to organic and holistic living may need are available in our retail section in HLC. Set aside to provide fresh produce, dried goods, cooking ingredients, personal toiletries and educational material, this retail outlet, as well as the other outlet in Tampines NorthEast, aims to provide the regular members and visitors with convenience and value-added knowledge-sharing at-sales customer service.
Environmentally Friendly Bags are available at our centres at $3 each. These bags are products of a joint project with VSS to raise funds to build a “Classroom of Hope”, made of locally grown organic cotton and sewn family-style by Waldorf School teachers and parents in Bangladesh.
Help us promote recycling and reduce the use of non-biodegrable bags by putting your purchases into these EnviroFriendly Bags.
