Mobility Aids Recycling Services

Our Objectives of the Mobility Aids Services & Training Centre

• Provides servicing and repair of wheelchairs and other mobility aids equipment for individuals and voluntary welfare organizations (VWOs).
• Provides access of mobility aids to individual needy, particularly to those with financial difficulties.
• Create awareness to have a better and greater accessible environment for people with physical disability.
• Encourage independence and initiative amongst the people with physical disability through training programs like servicing and repairing of wheelchair.
• To recruit, train and deploy volunteers in repairing wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
• Reduce volume of landfill wastes resulting from the disposal of medical equipment by recycling them.
• Increase the public's awareness to save the earth by re-using and recycling any unwanted mobility aids equipment and many other recyclable items.
• Promote the spirit of volunteerism among youths and the general public.

 Community Recycling Services

Every month, our volunteers (including neighbourhood school students) collect newspapers, glass bottles, and cans in an effort to recycle resources. We convert rubbish into money that gets channeled back to socially beneficial activities.

Our volunteer students also collect old clothes, and coordinate with other welfare organizations to ship them to the needy in other parts of the world. This recycling activity enables our volunteers to develop appreciation for nature, engage in environmentally friendly recycling activities in their daily lives, and benefit themselves and others in the process.
