Hatha Yoga

Practicing yoga aids in the cultivation of inner peace and harmony. It has also proven to be a very effective way of blending exercise with relaxation techniques. Some postures works on the glands and nervous system unlike other fitness culture.

Below are some brief and simple outline of the yoga that would be practiced. As seen below, it is of a progressive approach, so if someone who came in half-way e.g. Elementary 2 without attending the basic, I may not be repeating the previous sequence for the benefit of those who have already been through it and want to move on. However, I would as much as I can, exercise flexibility in any case if the class is very small and there are no basic classes open for the new-comer.

No notes will be given to students, however they are encourage to be "fully-present" and will be guided on how to remember the sequence without notes, or they can take down their own notes.

The basic or gentle yoga is an important introduction although many people may want to skip and rush into vigorous exercises to "sweat themselves out". Its simplicity is usually overlooked, where it conditions the body and mind to prepare oneself for more demanding postures, thereby minimising any injury or aggravating any old injuries.

Yoga is not just all about postures though a lot of emphasis is place here, its also about moving your body with your full presence  using appropriate muscles and holding comfortably in the moment and moving out of posture consciously of your whole being, flowing with your breath. You know that you are in "yoga" or union when you feel centred, peaceful, at one with yourself or even blissful after a session.
